Staff Appreciation Day

Staff Appreciation Day, in contrast with National Employee Appreciation Day (the first Friday in March), is any day that you choose to appreciate your employees. It could be one day every quarter, or every month.

WHY HAVE A STAFF APPRECIATION DAY? We know from Gallup that 71% of employees are either "not engaged" or are "actively disengaged" at work. Appreciation and recognition go a long way to motivate and engage employees. And companies with engaged employees are more successful.

WHAT TO DO FOR A STAFF APPRECIATION DAY? For a staff appreciation day, think about what your employees will enjoy. The day should be for and about your staff. Take time to publicly recognize your employees for a job well done. Cite recent milestones that were achieved. And then give your employees some time to celebrate. Throw an office party, or maybe give your staff a half day. There are many different ways to do a staff appreciation day. Just think of what your staff wants, and you can't go wrong.
